I am a son, brother, husband, father, dog-owner, United Methodist Pastor, KU fan, runner, and lover of life.

I am originally from Kansas. However, after leaving for college I spent about 10 years living outside the state; four years in school at Nebraska Wesleyan, three years in school at Garrett-Evangelical, and three years as Associate Pastor at Ridge UMC in Munster, IN. While I had nothing but positive experiences in each of these endeavors, my wife Heather and I decided it was time for us to return home in the summer of 2008. For the 2008-2009 appointive year I was blessed to serve at the Church of the Resurrection.

For about a year and a half I worked to help Innovative Metabolic Solutions develop from its infancy. Though I had a great experience working with that company, and learned a ton, I decided that ministry in the United Methodist Church is truly the place for me. In February of 2011 I began serving Easton and Southern Heights United Methodist Churches as their interim pastor while working part-time as the Director of Ministry Connections at First United Methodist Church, Lawrence.

In July of 2011 I was appointed to serve as the Pastor of Tonganoxie UMC and feel incredibly lucky to serve in my hometown. I currently live in Tonganoxie, KS, with my wonderful wife, our two awesome kids, and a goofy dog named Lucy.

Wonderful to read your background! Thanks for the UMCOR blog, I will share on my fb page. I am participating in the Foundations of Christian Leadership program with Melissa Crutchfield-Assistant General Secretary, International Disaster Response (UMCOR). It is amazing how fast UMCOR can mobilize relief efforts. Peace, Debbi
