Even a couple of weeks after I first read it, I continue to reflect on this post by Dagney.
It is easy for me, on one level, to dismiss the lack of female babies in the bible as a symptom of the patriarchal cultures from which the texts originated. On an academic level, that works for me. However, like Dagney, I’m struggling with how I will explain such things to my baby girl.

Men wrote what is in the Bible and men chose what would be in the Bible. Encourage your daughter to both write and make history…and know that the truth is often not factual.
